Fact Sheets : Cyberspace 101 : Cyberspace 101
Cyberspace is a domain like land, sea, air and space and it must be defended.
The Air Force is developing the AFCYBER or Air Force Cyber Command. The mission of the cyber command will be to defend against cyber attacks of our infrastructure. With more and more of our embedded systems being designed for easy remote control via computer interface these systems also need to the protected.
Currently it is in provisional status. It was established on Sept 17th of 2007 with a projected date of October 1, 2008 to be in phase one. The strategic vision of the Air Force Cyber command is available here in PDF.

The Boulder Denver New Technology Meetup Group
Last night was the The Boulder Denver New Technology Meetup Group in Boulder at the CU Campus. There must have been at least 150 people there and I heard that over 200 rsvp'd to show up.
There were several companies that presented.
Techbootstrap.com was mentioned.
CocoaHeads announced their group was forming.
First to present was Liquid Scenarios which is designed for tech startups working with venture capitalist funding. It is a system to track and project the financials. Their tag line "Do one week of analysis in 10 minutes."
Next came ToolPax an online software system to make fabrication easier to spec and price out.
Socialeyes came next which introduced the concept of sCRM or social customer relationship management.
Seekler is a system of reviews and referrals that aggregates opinions.
SocialThing was one of my favorites it takes all your social networks like facebook.com, flickr.com and twitter.com and aggregates it into a simple to follow feed.
Lastly Communikey was promoting their Festival of Electronic Arts coming on April 18-20, 2008 in Boulder, CO. I am looking forward to this one. Saw something similar at Georgia Tech once.
In the hallways after there was a lot of talk talk of SXSW, or south by south west, seems everyone was planning to attend. Venture Hacks was selling t-shirts. And everyone was mingling and networking. Saw Arron from Villij
Eventually we made it to the Foodzie and TeacherHubs I look forward to seeing their work come to market and wish them luck. They are in the running to be part of the next TechStars.
Over all an informative and enjoyable night.
