Keystone in your Marketing Plan
I just got off the phone with someone looking have a website made. He was very clear on what he wanted a website with strong search engine optimization to bring his business leads. He already has a marketing plan in place and needs to tie it together with the site. This is a smart step.
It brought up some similar conversations I have had in the past. Let me be clear. Your business's website is PART of your marketing plan not THE plan. Like the keystone in an arch the website is the focal point of your marketing.
Whatever business your in you have to make potential clients aware of who you are and what you do or sell. Then give them a reason to do business with you.
A website is the most cost effective means to do this. You will find it in the long run to be one of the best marketing investments you can make.
But your marketing doesn't stop once the site is on the web. There are literally millions of pages how do they get to yours;
- Search Engine Optimization for the best organic search engine placement.
- Business cards
- Postcards, flyers etc..
- Signs
- Sponsor a local event to put your name out in the community
- Newspaper, Newsletters
- TV or Radio
- Strategic partners to promote you.
and the number one way is with satisfied customers that will spread the word.
Some of these things cost money and others just take time. Your marketing plan should include as many methods as necessary. Know your market and how to communicate with them.
